Golden Girls Soap Brick

The hillsides where Flamingo Estate now stands were once a fragrant tapestry of sun-ripened Citrus. The fertile, honey-hued soil and Mediterranean climate were a perfect embrace for golden groves bursting with flavor and fragrance. This story began in 1841 when the first Orange Grove was planted in what would become downtown Los Angeles. The trees provided sweet sustenance for the weary miners of the Gold Rush, who found in them a taste of sunshine. Soon, a Citrus boom swept through the city, painting the landscape in shades of Orange and green from the Central Valley all the way to Orange County.

At the heart of these sprawling groves reigned a quartet of queens, the four Golden Girls of Citrus: the bright, joyful Tangerine; the delicate, crisp Lemon Blossom; the deep Blood Orange; and the exquisitely fragrant Neroli. To celebrate the end of summer, we’ve made a limited-edition Soap Brick with these sun-kissed jewels. The Golden Girls were each handmade with Californian Olive Oil, Babassu Oil, and gently thickened with Salt from Big Sur. We finished them off with a sprinkle of Saffron. Each one was hand-cut and hand-stamped by our golden team in Los Angeles.
